Light fawn half-chagrin, spine with 5 nerves (spine ends rubbed, top cover missing), front cover in case-hardened paper, light green cover on boards (slightly defective and brown). (slightly def. and browned, upper board stained). Partly posthumous original edition: the titular text appeared from July 1 to December 15, 1852 in the magazine "L'Artiste", the other 7 stories had been published earlier in other collections.
