Brussels Nicolas Flamel [Mesens], (Van Buggenhoudt imprint 1933) In-4° (slight soiling from use on upper cover and title). Br. with orange cover printed in black (slightly defective). First edition of this surrealist primer, a collection of 26 poems whose lines in each stanza begin with the same capital letter. Illustrated with a photographic frontispiece featuring a collage by Mesens, the original of which is kept at the MRBAB. Edition of 513 copies, one of 500 on Featherweight (n. 190). Intriguing autographed letter signed in red ink "To Marcel Lecomte, in memory of our old friendship and with the regret to find him always in too good company June 1934". Prov. Marcel Lecomte (1900-1966), Belgian surrealist poet, companion of Mesens, Goemans and Nougé in the review "Distances".
