After her studies at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, she worked as an illustrator: school books (Belin editions), children's editions (la Semaine de Suzette), ... From 1953, she participated in group exhibitions. In 1956, she moved to Brussels, where she lives and works. Her compositions, which generally include different characters, breathe sensitivity, poetry, symbolism and sometimes also a certain sadness. Colette Bitker's works can be found in the collections of the Belgian State, in the museums of modern art in Brussels and Liège, in the collections of the Banque Lambert and the National Bank of Belgium.
