Stamp and date on the back + "Lenox Museum Board" stamp. Rare. New condition. 91,5 X 91,5 cm. Phoebe Ann Moses, known as Annie Oakley (1860-1926), is one of the legendary women of the American West, famous for her formidable shooting accuracy. One of her most famous shots is the one that could remove the ashes from a cigarette held in her husband's mouth! With the series "Cowboys and Indians" Warhol investigates the way Native American history is constructed by the media. Geronimo resisted the forces that tried to displace him and his people but was eventually captured, living as a prisoner of war for the last two decades of his life.
