1954 RENAULT 4CV Découvrable

1954 RENAULT 4CV Convertible Serial number 2053934 Certificate of authenticity Renault Desirable convertible version French registration It is easy to understand why the Renault 4CV was so successful. It was indeed, in the aftermath of the world war, the first completely new affordable French car. Unveiled at the 1946 Salon de l'Automobile, held under the glass roof of the Grand Palais, it had a simple and clever design that made the most of its limited size: the engine and transmission were at the rear, leaving the platform completely free for the occupants, which made it possible to seat four people quite comfortably. With its tumbled engine, it was a light car capable of reaching 90 km/h. Within the reach of modest pockets, the 4CV became a true symbol of freedom. The 4CV Grand Luxe model is equipped with a fog lamp and a horn above the bumper, chrome hubcaps, two ceiling lights, a luxurious steering wheel, a lock on the engine hood, seats with chrome bars... The very top of the range of the 4CV is represented in 1951 by the Grand Luxe convertible which is in fact a convertible. Our Renault 4 CV convertible was born in 1954. It has been restored in the past. It is in a beautiful state of presentation, with a nice sky blue paint and a nice camel leatherette interior covered with a soft top in good condition. It has all its period accessories, the spare wheel and its 3 whiskers. Its chromes are in good condition and its charm is undeniable.
