The Cubism series, of which Composition (2019) is a part, is one of the collective's first series. It was entirely generated by Artificial Intelligence: a so-called "generative algorithm" (GANs) was trained on 2,000 digitized works of the cubist movement, including iconic painters such as Juan Gris, Robert Delaunay, Henri le Fauconnier. Composition (2019) was named after the work of Piet Mondrian, whose influence is strongly evident in the features of this painting. One recognizes Mondrian's shapes and colors (as in his work Composition 8), but also a machine signature of its own (blurred appearance, square format, pixels, machine "artifacts") that the artists deliberately put forward.
