DEGAS Edgar (1834-1917) peintre.

L.A.S. "Degas" addressed to Albert BARTHOLOMÉ. Monday [February? 1884]. 2 pages in8 (small mourning) He was unable to go to Mme Caylus's, because the dinner at the Ratomskys' started very late: "I couldn't leave, with my mouth full". So he went to see Mrs Bartholomé "on purpose". He also missed CLEMENCEAU, and on Sunday "I only went to the studio at about 3 o'clock, too late to enter the bastringue with the card sent by the master. There had been lunch at Coquet's with the painter's friends, I missed it too. How hot it could be in that place"...
