About his research on nourishing plants. His "works on grains and floury roots" certainly did not speak of "acorns of earth," but he did analyze them but he did analyze them, as we shall see in his Exposition of the various vegetable substances suitable for replacing to replace ordinary food in times of famine. He then analyzes the chemical composition of the acorn of ground, and gives some uses: "It can be cooked in water or under the ashes and to be used without without seasoning: it is possible to prepare bread and a bread and a vinous drink.
