TABACCHIERA, SHOWER, MANIFATTURA GINORI, 1745-1755 in porcelain painted in polychrome, rectangular body with lid mounted in gilded metal, painted with a mythological scene of Ariadne surrounded by maidens washing and preparing for a love encounter. On the sides of the box there are a series of scenes with putti and tritons, while under the base the girl is resting accompanied by two putti; inside the lid Bacchus is courting Ariadne. The rare snuff-box belongs to the production of the "Laboratorio degli Argentieri", which the Marquis had instituted in the manufactory together with that of the pietre dure and which moved to Livorno with the Marquis himself in 1747, according to the information obtained from the inventories and from the works delivered "to the warehouseman" or in the "Tariffa delle porcellane".
