JAPAN, Kyoto - MEIJI period (1868-1912) Elephant attacked by two tigers Large bronze group with brown patina, the elephant with its body entirely engraved and its tusks in ivory, the tigers with stripes partially cleared with acid and their eyes inlaid with sulfide Signed SHIROGYKU in three letters below H. 59 cm Object manufactured before March 1, 1947 and comprising less than 20% ivory by volume, not subject to the regulations relating to the ban on trade in elephant ivory (Orders of August 16, 2016 and May 4, 2017)
