The two vases are derived in reduced form from the monumental neo-Attic marble krater, about 170 cm high, preserved since the 16th century in the collections of antiquities of the Villa Medici in Rome and decorated with scenes that probably depict Achaeans warriors meeting at Delphi before embarking on the Trojan War. In 1780 it was finally transferred to the Uffizi galleries where it is still kept, height 75 cm, diameter 58 cm, Galleria Mossini, Mantua.
