This photo appeared on the front page of "L'Équipe" under the title "Historic" the day after a race won in 9'79 (world record) by Canadian Ben Johnson to the dubious pout of Carl Lewis. It was historic for a completely different reason. From the next day onwards, it was all about the "scandal" on the front page. Johnson tested positive for the anabolic steroid stanozolol and the gold went to Carl Lewis. He would tell "L'Équipe" twenty years later that the Canadian cheater had said to him after the race, "You're finished." Single later print. Edition 1/1.
