Description

Los Angeles 1984. Daley Thompson, decathlon © André Lecoq/L'Équipe 8 August 1984. Daley Thompson had been unbeaten since 1978 when he took on the long jump, the second of the ten tasks of the modern Hercules, the decathletes. From the outset, the Briton put the West German world record holder Jürgen Hingsen at bay and kept the place on top of Olympus he had won in Moscow. From his first decathlon at the age of 17 to his last in 1992 at the age of 33, Thompson was also a champion provocateur: he sometimes whistled "God Save the Queen" on the podium. Single later print. Edition 1/1. Printed on Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta Satin 300g paper. Flamant art frame. 40 X 60 cm
