The Kenyan, the reigning Olympic champion in the 1500 m, was even dropped by this Finn, whom no one was suspicious of. He comes from the country of Paavo Nurmi, Ville Ritola, champions of the 1920s, and Lasse Viren, who had triumphed earlier in the day in the 5000m.
