Description

Mexico City 1968. Bob Beamon, long jump (final) © Robert Legros/L'Équipe 18 October 1968. On his first attempt, Bob Beamon beat the world long jump record by 55 cm, bringing it to 8.90 m. Here he jumps again with the technique described by Robert Parienté in "L'Équipe": "A fantastic impulse of strength and speed. (...) An extremely delayed leg sweep. (...) Beamon remained suspended between sky and earth for a fraction of a second which seemed longer than usual. This mythical glide, on October 18, 1968 at about 3:45 pm, is perhaps the most intense moment in the history of the sport. Single later print. Edition 1/1. Black and white piezographic print on Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta Satin 300g paper. Flamant art frame. 20 X 30 cm each photo, 33 X 96 cm the complete triptych
