Description

BOB BEAMON Mexico 1968. Bob Beamon, long jump (qualifying) © Robert Legros/L'Équipe 17 October 1968. When he was about to qualify for the next day's final, Bob Beamon failed on his first two attempts, which were not even measured. Bad luck seemed to be chasing this tall American: he had just lost his university scholarship, his wife had left him... Beamon, 22, has never jumped further than 8.39m (with a favourable wind). On the third and final attempt, he shortened his run-up on the advice of his compatriot Ralph Boston, world record holder. Phew, it passes, at 8.19m... Single later print. Edition 1/1. Printed on Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta Satin 300g paper. Flamant art frame. 80 x 120 cm
