A few weeks after winning Wimbledon for the second time, Suzanne Lenglen won the Olympic title on the grass courts of the Beerschot Tennis Club. The Frenchwoman lost only four games in four matches. Winner of the mixed doubles with Max Decugis and bronze medallist in the women's doubles with Elisabeth d'Ayen, the Parisian champion took advantage of the war years to strengthen her game by training with men. She was only at the halfway point of the incomparable career (241 titles) that would make her the world's first tennis star. Single later print. Edition 1/1.
