According to our information, around 150 Sea-Dweller Comex reference 16660 circled indexes were produced. If a Rolex 16660 COMEX is rare, it is absolutely exceptional to find it accompanied by its original documents concerning both the watch and the diver. The watch is in excellent condition, with a dial superbly patinated by the many constraints imposed by Jacques G, both underwater and in the sun of the many countries he visited in the course of his activities. A rare opportunity to acquire one of the brand's icons, with its crystal-clear and beautifully documented history. Sea-Dweller 16660 is a transitional reference affectionately nicknamed "Triple Six" by collectors. Produced for ten years from 1978 and simultaneously with the Sea-Dweller 1665 for almost 5 years, the "Triple Six" is a transitional reference between its predecessor and the 16660, bringing among other evolutions a new caliber with quick date and greater water resistance with the use of sapphire crystal. Jacques G was a diving instructor at EPAT, the French army's parachute diving school. The mission of this army corps is to assist AMX30 and AMX10 tanks in crossing rivers and, if necessary, to rescue tank crews in peril during these perilous crossings. Contacted by SNETI (Syndicat National des Travaux Immergés) while still at EPAT, Jacques G first joined SOGETRAM (Société Générale de Travaux Maritimes), holder in November 1963 of the world record for the first dive to a depth of -100m. At the time, SOGETRAM was the largest company in France in terms of the number of divers it employed. It carried out maritime and river works throughout France and French overseas departments and territories, in all areas of underwater work (ports, dykes, refineries, engineering structures, dams, locks, quays, bridges, nuclear power plant pools, maritime structures, ships, etc.). Following its integration into SOGETRAM, the company was taken over by C.G.DORIS (Compagnie Générale pour le Développement Opérationnelle des Richesses Sous-Marines), which opened the door to international offshore activities. C.G. DORIS is a company specializing in oil platform design. It also owns several operational floating units, such as Supply (a supply vessel) and, above all, work barges, increasing its workforce to 90 divers, many of whom Jacques G trained at the French Army diving school. The company's missions were then extended worldwide to the maritime and river sectors (oil platforms, tankers, pipelines, ports, dams, supertankers), with intense activity in North Africa (Mauritania, Egypt), Black Africa (Gabon, Cameroon, Angola, Ivory Coast, Ghana...) and also in French Polynesia, with underwater assistance to nuclear testing for the CEA (Commissariat à l'énergie atomique) in the GISM (Groupe d'Intervention sous la Mer). In this capacity, Jacques G carried out several missions on the Mururoa and Fangataufa atolls. Later, COMEX SERVICES took over all the divers, including Jacques G, and created STOLT COMEX SEAWAY, while maintaining all activities. Non-exhaustive list of documents concerning Jacques G attached to the watch: Comex pins from various deep-diving missions Fenzi COMEX dive tables 2 Logbooks: 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 Mission photos Scuba diving professional booklet issued by SNETI: 1983, 1984, 1985, 2 individual diving safety cards: 1983, 1984, 1985, 1989 Hyperbaric fitness certificate: 1993 Record i
