de la quinzaine de Pasque, latin-french, for the use of Rome and Paris. Paris, libraires associés pour les usages du diocèse, 1739. In-8, red morocco, gilt lace and fillets, rich decoration of gilt fleurons (crowned lilies, scrolls, large and small flowers, flaming hearts and putti), coat of arms in the centre, spine decorated with fleurs-de-lis, inner lace, gilt paper lining and endpapers, gilt edges (period binding). A red morocco copy with the coat of arms of the Dowager Duchess of Orleans, widow of the Regent. Françoise-Marie de Bourbon (1677-1749), legitimate daughter of Louis XIV and the Marquise de Montespan, married in 1692 Philippe II, Duke of Chartres and later of Orléans. At her death in 1723, she retired to Saint-Cloud. The decoration of the plates, executed with fleurons and small gilt irons, is of an unusual type. Eighteenth century handwritten bookplate on the title: it belongs [sic] to Madame Sage rue St Dominique faubourg St Germain in Paris. Shock with slight loss at the top of the first cover and on one corner, minor rubbing, some foxing. OHR, 2567/7.
