Coloured shapes on a white background? Or a background that is torn apart to reveal the colours? The work is extracted from Codex, a book produced by four hands, which lists patterns and textures intended to be reproduced, multiplied, and arranged as desired. Here, it is a question of photographing stencils, like so many open windows on reality. In doing so, the reality that manifests itself through the tears is not exactly what we expect: it is coloured, iridescent, liquid fabric. Through this anthology of forms, offered to our manipulation, we return to the primary pleasure of making reality play in our hands.
