Jeff Mills, pioneer of Detroit techno music, started his career as a DJ. Olivier Degorce immortalizes him here during a rave at the Moncel abbey, in the Oise region. As a participant in the event, the photographer captures the character (like the other DJs he has gathered in his book Plastic Dreams) with the spontaneity that characterizes his work: a close-up that desacralizes him and makes him all about the movement and rhythm of the party. Behind him, the presence of other figures makes palpable the feeling of communion and sensuality that runs through the image.
