Olivier Degorce was one of the first to systematically photograph raves in the 1990s. These are immersive works, the artist being above all an actor in the event. Taken from the inside, these photographs capture moments from this great era of utopia. The coloured background (whose forms recall the utopian abstraction of the 1910s and 1920s) in front of which a young woman stands proudly is a case in point. A certain nostalgia is released from these moments captured in the awareness of their ephemeral nature.
