It looks like a big city that a kaleidoscope has ordered according to its own logic. A married couple, a Chrysler Building, a bird's-eye view of a grand New York avenue, a yellow taxi, a red buick, a passer-by wearing a hat, overlapping buildings and streets: the image is constructed by virtue of a telescoping of scenes and places that abolishes all spatio-temporal logic. As if born of the condensation between these distinct elements, an airship from another time emerges from the whole and crosses the composition towards the viewer. Its gold colour, its faceted geometric shape and its disproportionate size make it the focal point of the image and allow it, by its very presence, to give meaning to this prism of multiple lives.
