Plantæ selectæ quarum imagines ad exemplaria naturalia Londini in hortis curiosorum nutrita manu artificiosa doctaque pinxit Georgius Dionysius Ehret... Nuremberg, 1750-1773. Botanical collection published between 1750 and 1773 in ten issues or decuries of ten plates each, with explanations in Latin. The first seven parts were published by Christoph Jakob Trew (1695- 1769), physician and botanist of Nuremberg, and the last three by Benedict Christian Vogel (1745-1825), professor of botany at the University of Altdorf. We present here 80 plates out of text in period colours drawn by the German naturalist and flower painter Georg Dionysius Ehret and engraved on copper by Johann Jakob Haid. The collection has an intermediate title engraved and illuminated in red and gold for each of the decuries. Missing from the collection are Decuries VIII (explanations pp 37-42 and plates LXXI-LXXX) and Decury X (explanations pp 51-56 and plates XCI-C).
