BAUDELAIRE (Charles).
The Flowers of Evil. Model of volume I. [1946-1947]. In-folio, in sheets, cover, folder and slipcase of the publisher. Unique copy having served as a model for Édouard Goerg (1893-1969), richly annotated in pencil by the artist. The edition was published in Paris by Marcel Sautier in 1948.
The copy also includes a pencil sketch for La Vie antérieure on a double page, pp. 22-23.
Some of the lithographs are in two states, some of which do not seem to correspond to the state in the definitive work. There are also some rejected plates as well as text collages.
