In-4, (3) ff, VII, 464 pp, small perforation on first 3 ff, spotted fawn bas. ép., spine ribbed and decorated. Unpublished commentary on Auvergne custom. It was probably copied for Jean André de la Ronade, Lieutenant General of the Bailliage of Salers from 1698 to 1741, from the work left by his great-great-grandfather Jean André de la Ronade, lawyer in 1541 at the Seneschaussée of Riom, present at the great days of Moulins in 1550. Composed under the reign of Charles IX after 1567, the commentary received the most flattering appraisals from the leading jurists of the time. It has been lost since 1732, when its owner, who refused to have it printed, emphasized its usefulness: ''The decisions we have communicated in certain instances have led to many sentences being handed down in Riom and Salers, which have always been confirmed by Court rulings'' (Letter from Jean André de la Ronade quoted by Alphonse Aymar: Un Lieutenant Général du Bailliage des Montagnes d'Auvergne au XVIIIe siècle, 5).
