Property from an Important Private Collection Mirza Muhammed Yusuf al-Masiji (?), A treatise about calligraphy and scribal practices, signed Mirza ‘Ali Muhammed Luasani (?), dated 29 Rabi II 1287 AH/29 July 1870 AD, Persian manuscript on paper, 52 leaves plus 2 fly-leaves, 11 lines to the page, written in black nasta’liq, ruled in red, gold, black and blue, f.1b with a gold and polychrome heading, the opening bifolium with the text interspersed by gold leaves, important words in red, in black leather binding with brown borders, text panel 14 x 7.4cm.; leaf 19 x 12cm. Condition report: in good condition, some minor stains, some quires loose, ownership inscriptions and seals, as viewed.
