Property from an Important Private Collection A silver and copper inlaid bronze inkwell and associated cover, Khorasan, Iran, 13th century, of squat cylindrical form, the cover with three suspension loops, a flattened shoulder, central dome and knop finial, the body decorated in silver inlay with 8-pointed stars and geometric shapes featuring the twelve signs of the zodiac, inscription bands running between and around the three applied star shapes handle fixings, the lid with silver animated inscriptions alternating with harpies contained within roundels, and rim with frieze of running hares, the underside with central roundel containing a harpie and three cartouches containing running felines on a scrolling ground, 11.2cm. high Please refer to department for condition report
