TURKEY, OTTOMAN ART, 19th CENTURY Fine Turkish manuscript on paper. 51 folios, 19 lines of text in black and red ink in naskh script within a gold frame and blue and red fillets. Frontispiece illuminated with gouache and gold, decorated with a basket of flowers above the title in white on a gold background. Some polychrome and gilt flowers adorn the first double page. Some gilt rosettes punctuate the text. Bound in burgundy brown leather with stamped and gilt decoration of a central panel adorned with a network of staggered mandorles. H: 21.8 x W: 13.5 cm Expert : L.S. Binding damaged, one of the boards is almost detached, wear, paper a little unstained. (collated and complete)
