Description

Height : 100 cm - Width : 81 cm 100 cm - Width: 81 cm Originally from Langres, Jules-René Hervé moved to Paris in 1908 to study at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs and then at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. He exhibited his paintings of daily life at the Salon des Artistes français where he was awarded several prizes, including a gold medal in 1925. In the wake of the Impressionists, the painter uses a broad and deliberately blurred brushstroke that eliminates the outline of the figures. The natural light and the harmony of the colors emphasize the quietude of this childish game bathed in sunlight.
