Crystallized fossil log H. 45 9/32 in - W. 14 31/32 in - P. 11 13/06 - Weight: 87 kg 25 million years old petrified tree trunck from Germany (Zwickau). These crystalized waves are the bark of an Glyptostrobus Europaeus, 40 meters high tree that used to grow during the Oligocene period in humid forests. The remarkable point about this trunck, is that it fell in a swamp or lake that has been over-loaded with mineral's. So that it didn't rot with air, but slowly replaced the cellulosic fibers by minerals and finnaly a layer of shinny clear crystal.
