Pallasites are the most aesthetic and by far the most prized of meteorites, they are also among the rarest. Pallasites are sliced to reveal their great beauty with these translucent peridots (olivine crystals) formed in Space 4.5 billion years ago. The peridots are as if set naturally in the matrix of metal very bright with polishing. This metal matrix has a geometric pattern that is only found in meteorites, the so-called Widmanstätten structure. Cutting, preparing and polishing such a large pallasite is an achievement.
