It was inspired by the 108, of which it shared the general lines of the bodywork, made of fibreglass and mounted on a central beam chassis. Externally, however, was very different for the design of the roof and tail, made more sporty and more extreme in the design, and also for the front double headlights fairing. The engine of Renault origin was mounted in the rear overhang and this required the creation of ventilation openings on top of the fenders. It was certainly in 1966 that this car had its heyday, when the version with the engine of the Renault 1300 Gordini was released. This version was immediately noticed by everyone thanks to its countless victories in rallies, such as the 24 hours of Le Mans and the first World Championship. Following the agreements made by Jean Redele and Renault, it was the first Alpine to have on the front bonnet the lozenge of the French brand 'la Regie'. The magnificent example we are offering at auction is a real unicorn for motorsport enthusiasts around the world. The legendary A110 1300 VC. The car is presented with all its original components. The fiberglass body is in excellent condition no suffering no cracks or rust of any kind. The yellow color is the legendary Tournesol still very much alive and highlights its forms designed to enhance the driving of anyone who puts himself at the wheel. Another element of originality is the headlight with four powerful headlights and air intakes for the front brakes. On the sides, the line was elusive thanks to its low height (only 1.113m), the rear end had a classic truncated tail with a wide rear window, and the chassis was tubular with a single beam. From the mechanical point of view the car is in great shape, during the last 20 years has always been rigorously maintained with rigorous coupons, covered in the heat of a garage. The interior is fully preserved, the seats are preserved as the imperial, the dashboard and door panels. Instrumentation very clear and working (built in Italy), it is also equipped with all its original Alpine plates (Chassis number, Bodywork, Type etc..). The car will be auctioned at Milano AutoClassica 2021 in incredible condition. In 1962, Alpine presented an extreme sports car, designed by Giovanni Michelotti, the A110.
