HYDRIA CAMPANA A FIGURE ROSSEDATAZIONE: 350-320 a. C.MATERIA E TECNICA: argilla figulina rosata, v

RED-FIGURE BELL-SHAPED HYDRIA DATE: 350-320 BC. MATERIAL AND TECHNIQUE: pinkish figulina clay, shiny black paint, white, yellow and orange overpainting, modelled by fast lathe. Flattened brim with oblique hanging lip, high cylindrical neck with concave profile, fluid connection with the flattened shoulder, ovoid body tapered below, high echino foot molded, rear loop stick, set from the neck to the shoulder, lateral stick loops turned upward and set obliquely on the belly. ADDITIONAL DECORATION: the lip is spared; the rim is decorated with a false berry; on the neck there is a horizontal olive shoot; under the figurative scene there is a right-hand wave meander; under the back handle there is a very large palmette opened like a fan between whirls and volutes that are also on the shoulder. DECORATION: on the shoulder naked ephebe half-reclining on cushions to the right with a phiale in the right and a garland in the left. On the belly scene of gynaecology: two maids graduated to the left dressed in a long pleated tunic carrying an amphora and a hydria towards a young naked woman intent on washing in a large biconical vase with a jet of water that flows from a nozzle at the top.
