BLACK PAINTED GUTTUS AND KYLIX
DATE: IV-III cent. BC.
MATERIAL AND TECHNIQUE: pinkish figulina clay, shiny black paint with metallic reflexes, modelled by fast lathe.
Guttus with lenticular strigilated body and high moulded foot; decorated at the centre of the disc by a handsome male profile facing right with hood over hair; ring-shaped handle set obliquely on the shoulder and high spout with fluted lip; small kylix with truncated cone-shaped bowl, low truncated cone-shaped foot, stick handles set horizontally under the rim (2)
PRODUCTION: black glazed pottery from Campania, probably from Cales.
STATE OF CONSERVATION: intact
