FOUR BANG CHIANG VASES
DATE: 600-300 BC.
MATERIAL AND TECHNIQUE: brown purified clay, white mottling, red paint, modelled by slow lathe.
A large vase with flared rim, long cylindrical neck, truncated cone body, convex bottom; vase on wide trumpet foot with hemispherical body; olla with everted rim, cylindrical neck, bitroncocone body, cylindrical stem foot; large bowl with flared rim and hemispherical body, convex bottom
DECORATION: two decorated with stylized geometric or phytomorphic motifs, two with engravings in geometric patterns
PRODUCTION: Thai ceramics, Bang Chiang culture.
STATE OF CONSERVATION: two intact, one with lacunose foot, one recomposed.
DIMENSIONS: h. from cm 27 to cm 14,5; diam. mouth from cm 18,5 to cm 14
