In-8°. Red half-maroquin with long grain of the period. Smooth spine decorated with gilt crosses and fleurons. Yellow pages. First edition containing a large number of unpublished letters, notably from Grimm, Diderot, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, which serve as clarifications and corrections to the Confessions. Lower corner of the 1st plate of vol. 2 wrinkled, traces of wetness at the head of several pages in the 3 volumes and rare scattered russets.
