In-8°. Full blue morocco (Chambolle-Duru). Boards decorated with a triple gilt fillet and, at each corner, with an important gilt decoration of branches and flowers. Spine with 5 nerves decorated with a gilt stippling. Double gilt fillet in the entre-nerves framing a decoration of flowering branches with central gilt motif. Double gilt fillet on the edges and gilt thread on the inside border. T. gilt. Posterior lined slipcase. Genuine first edition published in volume V of "Etudes de moeurs au XIXe siècle" and first volume of "Scènes de la vie de Province". A magnificent copy in a delightful well established binding by Chambolle-Duru.
