Small in-12°. Full contemporary dark purple morocco (attr. to François Bozérian). Spine with 4 nerves decorated with a ringed roulette in dotted line set with a double gilt fillet. Inter-nerves decorated with a large fleuron. The boards are decorated with a large floral lace decorated with a double gilt fillet. Gilt fillet waving on the edges. Interior gilt spiral. T. gilt. Binding that could be attributed to François Bozérian. Posterior lined slipcase. Excellent second edition, revised and enlarged, of the Odes translated on Brunck's text by J.B. de Saint-Victor, giving the Greek text opposite the French text. It also contains the prefaces to the 1st and 2nd editions. It is illustrated with a frontispiece and three charming figures by Girodet and Bouillon engraved by Girardet. Provenance: Lucas de Lestanville Library (armorial bookplate). A very fine copy.
