The first part presents Italian costumes and views of Venice (234 engravings); the second, those of other peoples of Europe, Asia and Africa (279 engravings). A total of 513 woodcuts with frames after Vecellio by Seguin and Huyot, framed by Catenacci and Fellmann. Copy according to the description of the bibliographers (see Colas, n° 2986). Contrary to what is indicated on the title, this work does not contain the essay on woodcutting which was published separately in 1863 in 1 vol. A very nice and fresh copy in its well preserved contemporary binding.
