PICOT Emile
Cornelian Bibliography
Paris, Fontaine, 1876
Fort in-8°. Half red morocco with corners (De Samblanx-Weckesser). Spine with 5 nerves very richly decorated. Double gilt thread on the boards. T. gilt. Posterior lined case. First edition printed at 500 copies on Hollande (n° 243). Important bibliographical work by Picot on Cornelius. Superb binding in perfect condition by De Samblanx of which this is probably one of the first bindings (here again without the covers and the spine). He started to work with Weckesser in 1882. He adopted the signature De Samblanx-Weckesser (the latter for the decoration and the gilding) at the date which officially starts in 1889 and ends in 1909.
