Barnett (Edward, 1815-1894), A collection of pencil drawings, mainly for Nathaniel Mills, the Birmingham silversmith and leading box maker of the Victorian period, including studies of Abbotsford, Kenilworth and other building for snuff boxes, vinaigrettes and powder flasks, the drawings also include hunting scenes, dead game, running hounds and deer, plus detailed studies of animal heads, also a study for a possible belt buckle with two cricketers, plus various others. (19) Provenance: The artist Edward Barnett (1815-1894), married Ann Mills, second daughter of Nathaniel Mills; their daughter Ann Barnett (1841-1918); Edward Henry Parsons (born 1868), son of Henry Parsons and his wife Ann Parsons née Barnett; Mrs Myra Waterson, daughter of Edward Henry Parsons; Sotheby's, English Silver, Thursday 6th February, 1986, lot 1. Edward Barnett married Ann Mills, on 15th March 1838 and was he subsequently mentioned in Nathaniel's will. He is listed as a Die Sinker and Seal Engineer in the 1871 census. In 1855 Edward was listed as a designer and general die maker, a toolmaker and manufacturer of clock parts.
