In-12, 296 p., 19th century cherry calf, spine with 4 nerves, gilt title and dates, gilt fillet bordering the caissons and the boards, inner scroll, gilt edges (corners rubbed, browning). This work contains the following pieces: - 1. BRIENNE (H.-A. de Loménie de). Response made to the memoirs of Monsieur le comte de La Chastre. - 2 Conjuration of the dona Hyppolite d'Arragon baroness of Alby, on the city of Barcelonne in favour of the Catholic king. - 3 LE BEL (Pierre). Relation of the death of the Marquis Monaldeschi, grand escuyer of the Queen Christine of Sweden. November 6, 1657. - 4. reasons of France for the war in Germany, & what was its conduct there. - 5. Letter in the name of a foreigner, about the peace between France and Spain. - 6. [SARRASIN (Jean-François). Relation of the conspiracy of Valstein. A very caustic and uncommon collection, embellished with a handwritten bookplate from the period which is not lacking in piquancy: "This present book belongs to its master who is neither a Capuchin, nor a clergyman, but in case of loss Simon Cornichon is his name, cooper in rue Jaquilet n° 3".
