In-12, [8] f., 470 p., [1] blank, contemporary blond calf, spine with five raised bands, garnet-red morocco title-piece, ornamented caissons with dove and sheaf as fleurons, triple gilt fillet on covers, gilt roulette on counter-pieces, red edges (headpieces uncovered, upper jaw split, corners rubbed, light stain on lower cover, brownings, small paper stain in margins of last 6 ff.). First edition of this posthumous collection by Jean Hamon (1618-1687), physician of Port-Royal-des-Champs. Provenance: Guillaume-Marcel Ysabeau de Bréconvilliers, 18th century French parliamentarian (arms on spine); modern monogram stamped on one endpaper (Hebbelinke?).
