In-8, [8] f., 549 p., [4] f., contemporary brown calf, spine with 5 nerves, edges gilt on marble (binding very rubbed and roughly restored, scratches on the boards, a few russets in the margins, modern stamp on the fx-title). Translation by Philippe Goibaud-Dubois (1626-1694), Jansenist, tutor of the Duke of Guise, elected to the French Academy in 1693. Illustrated with 5 copper-engraved plates: a frontispiece by Noblin and the 4 others unsigned representing Jesus teaching the crowd, the Annunciation, the Vocation of the Apostles and the Last Supper.
