FLORIAN (Jean-Pierre Claris de). Italian theatre. In Paris, and found in Brussels, by Em. Flon, 1785. 2 vols. in-16, [2] f., 14-194 p. 2 vols. in-16, [2] f., 14-194 p. + [2] f., 175 p., front cover, contemporary spotted tan calf, smooth spine, green title and gilt fleurons, triple gilt fillet on covers, gilt fillet on edges, marbled edges (rubbed binding, two uncovered headpieces, worms in the tail of vol. 1, spidering, dull corners). Edition most probably forged, based on the edition of Paris, Didot, 1784. Engraved frontispiece to each volume. Provenance: Bertrand de Molleville (Toulouse 1744 - Paris 1818), intendant in Brittany then minister of the Navy in 1791. Emigrated to London, he entrusted his goods to the count of Chambonas who fled with them (armorial bookplate engraved by Maugein).
