CULANT (René Alexandre de). Morale enjouée, or Collection of fables, tales, epigrams, fugitive pieces and various thoughts. Second edition. In Cologne, by Pierre Marteau, 1783. In-8, 266 p., [3] f. (table), contemporary blond calf, smooth and decorated spine, garnet morocco title-piece, double gilt fillet on the boards, fillet on the edges, interior roulette, gilt edges (one corner dulled, a few scuffs on the boards, tear in the margin on p.243, a few small light spots). Amusing collection of pieces composed by the Marquis de Culant (1718-1788), a military man who was master of the dragoons. Following the Morale enjouée, one finds bound : - Opinion d'un mandarin, ou Discours sur la nature de l'âme. In Cologne, s.n., and is in Paris at the Merchants, 1784, 36 p. - Discours sur la manière de combattre de la cavalerie contre l'infanterie.
