GRACQ (Julien).
Around the seven hills. Paris, José Corti, 1988. In-12, brown framed morocco, brown pebbled paper boards, smooth spine, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine, lined case (C. and J.-P. Miguet). First edition.
One of 150 copies on Arches Arjomari vellum, the only large paper, besides a few offprints, justified and signed by the publisher.
"I have never been to Rome," wrote Gracq in Lettrines 2, "One day or another I will see myself on its roads, since it seems that all roads lead there, but what will I find there? He went there, without enthusiasm, in 1976. From this trip was born Autour des sept collines in 1988, a collection of essays and reading notes entirely devoted to the city of Rome.
A very nice copy bound by Colette and Jean-Paul Miguet.
An autograph greeting card signed by Julien Gracq for the year 2001 is enclosed.
