Critics of the time often praised Gerbini's technical abilities, "whose extraordinary power of the bow, whose strength in passages and difficulties is almost unbelievable for a woman" (Allgemeine musikalische Zeitung, 1806/07, p. 399, quoted from V. Timmermann's article on L. Gerbini in the Sophie Drinker Institute's list of European female instrumentalists). - Fold. Minim.
