Bln. 1888. - Second edition, enlarged by one plate, first published 1758. With several maps and plans as well as 24 splendid views of ruins with figurative staffage and landscapes, the remaining plates with ground plans, orders of columns, ornaments, etc. "Les grandes estampes sont fort belles" (Cohen-R.). Le Roy's work appeared simultaneously with Piranesi's "Vues de Rome" and forms one of the highlights of the dispute between advocates of the Roman and those of the Greek style. - Partly slightly spotted a. slightly bruised. - 2nd edition. 2 parts in 1 volume. With 61 copper plates. Contemporary half leather (rubbed and bumped, crowns damaged). Partly slightly stained.
